Customer identification

Every applicant completes know-your-customer (KYC) verification before an account, card or digital asset service is activated. This typically includes legal name, date of birth, residential address, government-issued identification and, where required, a liveness or document check.

Business customers additionally provide formation documents, ownership structure and beneficial-owner identification, along with verification for authorized signers.

Sanctions and watchlist screening

Applicants and counterparties are screened against applicable sanctions, politically exposed person and law-enforcement watchlists at onboarding and on an ongoing basis. Matches are reviewed before any relationship proceeds.

Ongoing monitoring

Account and transaction activity is monitored for patterns consistent with money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud or sanctions evasion. Digital asset activity may also be reviewed using blockchain analytics provided by our partners.

Enhanced due diligence may be applied to higher-risk relationships, including source-of-funds or source-of-wealth documentation and additional approval steps.

Reporting and recordkeeping

Our licensed banking, card issuing and custody partners file the reports required of them by law and retain onboarding and transaction records for the periods that applicable regulations require. We cooperate with lawful requests from regulators and law enforcement.

We may be prohibited by law from disclosing that a report has been filed or that an account is under review.

Restrictions

We do not knowingly provide services to sanctioned individuals or entities, to customers in prohibited jurisdictions, or for anonymous, shell or nominee accounts. Applications may be declined, and accounts may be restricted, frozen or closed, where verification cannot be completed or where activity presents unacceptable risk.

Shared responsibility and contact

Regulated banking, card issuance and custody functions — including the associated AML program obligations — are performed by our appropriately licensed partners. Brickell Wallstreet maintains onboarding, screening and escalation practices that support those programs, and customers are responsible for providing accurate, current information.

How to submit your documents

  1. 1

    Start the application

Open an account request and complete the basic profile. You will receive a secure, single-use upload link by email.

  2. 2

    Scan or photograph each document

Use good light on a flat, dark surface. PDF, JPG or PNG under 10MB each. Colour, uncropped, and never a screenshot of a screen.

  3. 3

    Upload through the secure link

Files are encrypted in transit and reviewed only by the onboarding and compliance teams. Do not email documents as plain attachments.

  4. 4

    Watch for follow-ups

If something is unclear or expired we will request a replacement. Most reviews finish in minutes; business accounts usually take one to three business days.

Never send documents, card numbers, passwords or one-time codes over social media or to anyone who contacts you unexpectedly. We will only ever ask for documents through the secure upload link in your application or through a verified request from our onboarding team.

FAQ

Plain-language answers

Common questions about identity checks, documents and account reviews — explained without the jargon.

Why do you need my ID before I can open an account?

Financial regulations require us and our partner banks to confirm that you are who you say you are before money moves. A government ID and proof of address is the standard way to do that, and it protects you from someone opening an account in your name.

What documents should I have ready?

For individuals: a valid passport or driver's licence, and a recent utility bill or bank statement showing your address. For businesses: formation documents, ownership details, and ID for each owner above the reporting threshold and for anyone authorised to use the account.

How long does verification take?

Most personal applications are checked automatically within minutes. Business accounts and any application that needs a manual review typically take one to a few business days, and we will tell you if anything else is needed.

What is sanctions screening?

It is an automated check of your name against government lists of people and organisations that financial institutions are prohibited from serving. Almost everyone passes; a possible name match simply means a person reviews it before your account continues.

Why was I asked where my money came from?

For larger deposits or unusual activity, we may ask for source-of-funds documents such as a payslip, sale contract or investment statement. It is a routine step, not an accusation, and it helps keep the platform safe for everyone.

Do you monitor my transactions?

Activity is reviewed automatically for patterns linked to fraud or financial crime, including on-chain analytics for digital assets. Nobody is reading your everyday purchases for any other reason, and reviews are handled under strict access controls.

Can my account be frozen or closed?

Yes, if verification cannot be completed, if we are legally required to act, or if activity presents unacceptable risk. In some cases the law prevents us from explaining the reason, but we will always return funds you are entitled to as permitted.

How long do you keep my information?

Identity and transaction records are retained for the periods set by financial recordkeeping and anti-money-laundering rules — commonly five years after the relationship ends — and are then deleted or anonymised.

Does crypto follow the same rules?

Yes. Buying, holding, converting or spending digital assets through your card is subject to the same identity checks, screening and monitoring as your cash balances.
